Exterior Wood

The durability of the coating is of critical importance to all house owners. Think about flexibility, adhesion and water uptake. Balance them right and you are on the way of designing a winning formula for exterior wood substrate. Our exterior wood binders have all been tested and approved on our Finnish exposure site to survive the most demanding climate of snow, frost and of course some sunny weather too! Now also available CHP 559 for minimised water uptake of the paint film.

Cleanability

Balanced polymer morphology with specialty raw materials is key to make a binder for stain-free walls. Test our CHP 536 for high quality interior wall paints. Painted wall requires minimum maintenance as the paint film is tough and possible stains stick less and the stains are easy to remove. We Finns are world leading in coffee consumption – CHP 536 is particularly resistant to coffee!

Locking tannins – no more yellow knot marks

Our latest innovation – CHP 581 EP – chemically locks the extractives present in wood and allows for the top coat to do its job. We want to make our customers´ lives easy and hence the product is nonionic in nature. Functionality is in the binder: Remember to have at least 50% of binder in the formulation or formulate as clear!
